Grace Lee, Partner and Group COO of Qiming Venture Partners, was named TOP 10 China VC/PE CFO in 2022 by Frost & Sullivan and LeadLeo Research Institute during the first New Investment Expo and the 16th Sullivan Global Growth, Innovation and Leadership Summit. The award aims to recognize the important role of CFO community in the development of China's VC/PE industry, covering the entire investment life cycle of fundraising, investment, management, and exit.
Grace manages fund operations including finance, legal, US Dollar fundraising and investor relations at Qiming. As a veteran fund financier, Grace is equipped with extensive experience in US Dollar funds operation and qualifications in finance and legal areas. She is a board member of China Venture Capital Finance Organization.
Along with in-depth interviews with dozens of VC/PE CFOs, Frost & Sullivan and LeadLeo Research Institute analyzed statistics from five dimensions including CFOs' personal resumes, the conditions of VC/PE institutions where CFOs work, CFOs' financial digitalization capabilities, CFOs' level of participation in the investment business and business decision-making processes.
According to the findings, the role of VC/PE CFOs is no longer accounting in a traditional sense but allocating energy to the entire investment life cycle of fundraising, investment, management, and exit. An excellent and competent VC/PE CFO should be equipped with comprehensive skills including financing, data analysis, communication, industry benchmark, fund operation, and overall planning.
